Full body concept doodle for the Eve design in the previous post. Larger version on my DA. Action pose + effect pose in this one. I usually make full body doodles of the outfit concept in action since it’s a lot easier to guage whether or not the outfit is actually practical when you do(both IRL or illustration wise)
My entry for KOG’s 2014 Elsword costume design contest. Full size version can be viewed on the Elsword Online website(NA) or on my Deviantart. It’s registered under Ascelina on the KOG site since it registers your character name instead of username. That’s a first for me.
Went through a number of sketches and concepts before arriving at this design. Full design below for those who are interested. Warning that it’s a &*^%ing long read.
More Eve WIPs. Finishing up and compiling a lot of the stuff now. Really cutting it close on time, but if I do happen to make it I’ll post the full concept after it’s been submitted and published on the site.
Sketching out some Eve mannequins for the Elsword costume design contest. I couldn’t really use the provided template since it was too small for me to be able to draw everything comfortably.
Not sure if I’ll make it, seeing as I spent longer than expected hashing out my design/lacked time due to work/lacked time due to working on the F+F design at the same time but I’ll give it a shot anyway
Funny thing, I wonder if I’m the only one who ever noticed that Eve doesn’t actually have ears, she has…..those things..on the side of her head instead. Whatever they actually are will remain a mystery
Quick speed doodle of Elle in an outfit design for the Fanplusfriend 2014 design contest. This year’s theme piqued my interest so I thought I’d enter anyway since I’ve been on a major classic loli/victorian inspiration streak recently.
Full size art on my DA here ->link
The full design can be seen here on the Fanplusfriend facebook. ->link
The outfit is composed of 4 pieces: a blouse, skirt, jumpskirt and crop jacket, all of which can be colour coordinated to taste. The only thing I didn’t put in the illustrationwere the wing breast pins on the jacket. Here is a breakdown of the details that could not be put on the Facebook page/entry(there is a viewing size limit for facebook images, so additional details is pointless)
Outfit style: victorian classic lolita
Theme: feathers and wings(embroidery/print embellishments), simple elegance
Colours: multiple available(warm, cool palette)
Jacket: crop jacket, no buttons or zippers. Can be closed or held in place via wing shaped breast pins with matching beaded chain. Medium thickness, Spring/Autumn jacket.
Jumpskirt: lined with gold trimmed accents and bows. Trimmed with 2 layers of box pleat ribbon. Gold lace up the front and back torso, detachable back ribbon.
Blouse: standard blouse of wearer’s choice. (black or white recommended)
Skirt: large, A-line shaped box pleated skirt. Wear a petticoat or pannier underneath to achieve higher volume, or wear without for a more subtle look.
Accessories: neck ribbon or jeweled choker to accent the blouse. Victorian style chokers, pins, or hair accessories Rose motif accessories would pair well with this outfit. Any standard classic lolita shoes would pair well with the outfit, or laced boots in either black, brown or white.
If you like the outfit, please do consider voting for it on the Fanplusfriend facebook page and it might perhaps be made(I don’t even care about winning the contest, but if an outfit garners enough support there is the possibility it would still be produced). For those that already did, big thanks to you all. Any support is greatly appreciated :)
WIP of part 2 of the 2014 Fanplusfriend entry.
Doing lineart is tedius but the painting part is always fun.
A few quick WIP progress work of a design entry for the Fanplusfriend 2014 design contest. Can’t post up the full design or anything detailed till the polling actually begins so for now it’s just a couple shots of the brainstorming and process.
I normally don’t do contests because of time constraints and this was no exception but it was a fun little exercise.

Quick doodle. Copic multiliner on Moleskine and Copic brush.
One of my most favorite short films ever based on a one shot written by Midorikawa Yuki. If you love Natsume Yuujinchou, watch this! It was one of her earlier works before Natsume and follows the same mono no aware type theme; film was also produced by the same staff that worked on Natsume so it’s pure gold.
I never meant to post this to begin with since it was supposed to be a gift for somebody but since I wasn’t able to give it to that person in the end, I suppose it’s okay now.
Heavily inspired by art nouveau styles(which is what the intended recipient liked). Process was digital sketch for layout planning, pencil, ink with sepia multiliners on Copic marker pads followed by final colour with Copic Ciao. Everything about this piece was just purely Copic…
Haven’t had much to update with for the last season or two since I’ve mostly been doing private work where I’m under NDA but now that it’s coming to an end regular updates should hopefully resume :D
